Help Us Save Animals
Sarasota In Defense of Animals, a local animal sanctuary, desperately needs the help of our community. After 21 years of providing lifetime care for unadoptable, unwanted animals, the economy has taken its toll and funds are desperately low and may force closure as quickly as October. 395 animals presently live out their lives peacefully at the sanctuary, including 150 cats, 21 dogs, 17 goats, 6 sheep, 11 pigs, 1 cow, 50 ducks, 11 geese, 40 rabbits, 7 horses, and other animals whose only alternative would have been euthanization. We at Flying Fish Outfitters are avid animal lovers and activists. We want to help keep the sanctuary in operation by asking for your spare change. Simply drop your loose change in our donation tub and hopefully we can make a difference.
Local Businesses Support Women’s Professional Tarpon Tournament Series
The Tarpon Anglers Club is striving to conduct the most professional tournament series the marine world has seen.
With a nationwide TV broadcast series, the PTTS is showing the public how much fun, excitement, thrills, and chills fishing in Boca Grande Pass can provide. The show is filmed, produced and aired with the utmost professionalism and sheds a positive light on tournament fishing and tarpon fishing in Boca Grande Pass.
That Tarpon Anglers Club also strives to protect our resource. Through partnerships with Mote Marine Laboratory and the Florida Wildlife Research Institute, we are actively participating in ensuring the health of the environment and species. These partnerships enable on site researchers to collect data from fish caught during the PTTS events, furthering research efforts so we all can gain a better understanding of Tarpon.
